16.03.2010 • WERL Yesterday, Manfred Gebhardt, founder of Gebhardt-Stahl, was very pleased to be able to hand over two cheques. €7,000 was donated to the Werl-based project 'No child goes without a meal', and the 'Friends of the Music School Association' (Förderverein der Musikschule) recieved a further €2,500. The money was principally raised through donations which had been transferred to the Werl-based company's account to celebrate the inauguration of the new hall at the end of January. The sum that was raised was then rounded up by Gebhardt Stahl.

As Gebhardt-Stahl official representative, Dominik Hoffmann states: It is very important to us that we are able to support local projects with the donations. The company feels very attached to the Hellweg town. "This is where we are based."
Manfred Gebhardt was very pleased that through their donations not only local people supported the important Werl-based project but also those "from further afield". The town's mayor Michael Grossmann and Education secretary Sabine Blome stressed that the donation was able to secure meals for both the current academic year as well as until the end  of the academic year 2010/11. "In addition, through further donations, we already have reserve funds for the period thereafter."
The 'Friends of the Music School Association' (Förderverein der Musikschule) was also a cause that Manfred Gebhardt felt strongly about. As he stated at yesterday's award event, he also learnt to play the piano. As he considered it important to learn bit by bit through hard work, Gebhardt was very happy to support such an important hobby. Carola Haas, acting chairperson for the Förderverein der Musikschule and the director, Adelheid Wagner-Usler were also very pleased to receive the financial support. At the music school, gifted children, whose families alone cannot afford tuition, are given the chance to participate through various projects.
Social concerns are very important for Manfred Gebhardt. Together with his deceased wife Regine, he founded a private, not-for-profit foundation to promote culture and music in the district around Soest. In addition to this, Manfred Gebhardt is very involved in supporting other cultural activities, e.g. projects on the island of Usedom and in  Bautzen. th
